Norman Vineyards
Norman Vineyards was founded in 1971 when Art and Lei Norman were looking for a place to realize their dream of growing grapes and making wine. Driven by Art’s memories of his father and grandfather making wine at home when he was a child, the Norman’s spent weekends searching out a location in the cooler coastal climates of California, before settling on their Adelaida site in the yet to be discovered westside appellation of Paso Robles.
After nearly twenty years of grape growing, the Normans decided to build their winery, which was completed in 1992. From the first vintage our wines have been a hit and we have grown from a modest first crush of about 1,000 cases to our current level of 25,000. In Art’s memory we continue to make a broad spectrum of wines from Zinfandel-the Monster® to Syrah, No-Nonsense Red®, Pinot grigio, Chardonnay, and Barbera. We have many small production wines that represent the best of Norman and the Paso Robles area, which include: Petite Sirah, Vino Rosado™-dry Rhône rosé, Merlot and our newly released Elite Collection – Crescendo™- Meritage, The Vocation™-Rhône blend, Zinfandel-Mephistopheles™, and other selections that are made specifically for our Wine Club. Stop by our beautiful grounds to sample from a list of about 10 wines and enjoy a picnic among the vines and oaks.
